Paper: Geo-Thermal Heat Pump vs. Gas Furnace

This white paper compares residential geo-thermal heat pumps to that of conventional natural gas fired furnaces with electric cooling. The studdy looks at the cost to remove 1000 # of CO2 using various systems. In some regions, there were no carbon savings with Geo-thermal heat pumps over natural gas heating systems due to the amount of emergency heat required for the heat pump and the electric generation make up for the respective regions.
