Dryers
I Overview
Natural gas dryers dry clothes more quickly, and with less static electricity and fewer wrinkles, than electric dryers. Natural gas dryers may be more expensive to purchase than electric dryers, but they will often be less expensive to operate.
II Applications
Dryers will use less energy when used in conjunction with modern Energy Star rated washers, which extract more water from each cycle.
III Equipment Options
Newer dryers have sensors, monitoring either moisture or temperature, that will shut off the dryer when the load is dry. They may also have an “automatic cool down” feature, which cycles cool air during the last few minutes of the load rather than continuing to use heated air.
