Air Barriers
I Overview
Air barriers separate areas with differing air temperatures. They recirculate facility air, directed downward, creating a 90% seal in an open doorway.
II Applications
Installation of an air barrier can reduce maintenance costs, reduce energy use, improve air quality, and enhance the comfort of employees and customers.
Air barriers are often used where large doors stay open for long periods of time, such as loading docks. They may also be used at the entrances of clean rooms to keep out dust and other airborne contaminants.
III Equipment Options
Air barriers can be installed either horizontally, across the top of a doorway, or vertically, along the side of the doorway. Large openings may require a combination of both vertically and horizontally installed barriers.
