Dryers

I Overview
Dryers remove moisture from a substance. Most dryers use convection heating to remove moisture as water vapor.

II Applications
Drying is important in most industrial processing. Some industries rely more heavily on drying than others, including agriculture, chemicals, waste processing, and wood & pulp processing.

III Equipment Options
Belt dryers run hot air through a moving porous bed of wet material. The moisture is transferred from the wet particles to the hot air and the material becomes progressively drier as it traverses the length of the belt dryer. Drum dryers apply a wet film to the inside of a hot rotating cylinder. After the film material dries it is scraped off.

IR paper dryers use radiation and convection to heat paper during manufacturing.
