High Volume-Low Speed Fans

I Overview
High volume low speed (HVLS) fans reduce air stratification in large spaces. They are essentially large versions of conventional ceiling fans, although they move much more air while turning at much lower speeds.

II Applications
In normal operation, HVLS fans rotate slowly (thus the name), which moves air without causing a cooling effect due to fast-moving air. This property helps lower energy costs when heating a large space, as they push warmer air that has risen to the ceiling back down to floor level. When cooling is desired, the rotation speed can be increased to restore the cooling effect.
