Closed Loop (water source) Heat Pump Study

This study is not to be shared outside the ESC member. A group of ESC members funded this study to look at closed loop heat pumps versus conventional heating. The study found that these systems can be very efficient moving heat from the sunny side of the building to the shaded side, etc. One thing we discovered is that the typical closed loop system uses a boiler rated at 25% the normal size, but it runs more hours, and the gas load is only 1/2 a typical boiler heating system.
